Interporto Padova is an MTO

Interporto Padova works as an MTO (Multimodal Transport Operator): offering companies spaces (intermodal loading units) on its trains. Operators can contact the Padua platform to organise the shipment of their intermodal loading units, containers or swap bodies, with a single specialised contact able to organise the door to door collection and delivery.
They are “groupage” trains, i.e. trains where just a single container or swap bodies can be shipped. A service designed to measure the needs of the small and medium-sized companies in Padua and northeast Italy, which rarely have sufficient goods volumes to occupy an entire train.
