The Ambassador of France in Italy Christian Masset, accompanied by the Consul General in Milan Cyrille Rogeau and the Head of Cabinet of the Embassy, Antoine Starcky visited yesterday, 17 April the Interporto di Padova. He was welcomed by Interporto Padova President Sergio Gelain and General Manager Roberto Tosetto. The guests visited all the structures of the freight village, stopping in particular at the Intermodal Terminal where the four new large electric gantry cranes have been operating for a few months. The ambassador expressed interest in the rail-road intermodality model developed by Interporto and in the experience of Cityporto, the service for distributing goods in the city using environmentally friendly vehicles, which could potentially be replicated in many French cities. The possibility of rail connections with the main French ports was also evaluated during the meeting.
