On 19 September, Interporto Padua received an important delegation of managers from the Chinese port of Guangzhou (Canton) whose twofold objective was to get to know in person the organisation and services offered by the Padua logistics platform and on the other hand to illustrate to a group of important Italian logistics operators the opportunities and relationships made available by the large Chinese port.

The delegation consisted of three important managers: Sun Bangcheng, Director Business and Operation Department, Zhu Jiaming, Deputy Director Container Operation Centre, Business and Operation Department, and Johannes Nanninga CEO of Guangzhou Port Europe, the company that looks after the Chinese port’s business interests in Europe.

In addition to the president of Interporto Padua, Sergio Gelain and the general manager Roberto Tosetto, the mayor of Padua Sergio Giordani also welcomed them, confirming the importance of the meeting.

The visit of the Port of Guangzhou’s management is part of an innovative vision of the relationship between Italian ports and international interlocutors interested in developing maritime traffic flows between different macro economic areas.
