In the subsequent call (2015), starting from the previous successful outcome, Interporto Padova S.p.A. has submitted a second project proposal, aiming at synergically complementing the first one, entitled “Enhancing Interporto di Padova – Step 2: ancillary measures and ICT solutions for optimising terminal operations, accessibility and interconnections” (code 2015-IT-TM-0247-M).
426 proposals where submitted in this case and, after their evaluation, only 195 where selected for funding. Among those ones, 12 proposals where representing the “Multimodal Logistic Platforms” priority, including the project proposal of Interporto Padova S.p.A. (INEA call 2015 results summary).
In particular, this second project is increasing terminal efficiency with particular reference to its accessibility (by fully automating the new Eastern gate) and operations optimisation (e.g. terminal internal paths).
In this purpose this second step is characterised by a strong technological component as well as by a great deal paid to innovation; in fact, it encompasses study activities aimed at paving the way to a continuous evolutionary process, as to allow further and fully exploiting all terminal potentials in the long term.
In an extremely synergic way with the CEF 2014 project, the activities of the CEF 2015 Action were completed in 2020, with particular reference to the refinement of the study and research activities envisaged by Activity 5. While, in fact, most of the activities related to the physical implementation of terminal updating interventions were completed in close synergy with what was achieved thanks to the funding of the CEF 2014 Action, the planned refinement studies were completed in 2020, thus allowing the preparation of a series of documents that Interporto Padova used as the basis for a new request for funding (this time of national derivation) that the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport has made available for the completion of the national network of freight villages.
